AA-EVP ParaNews for September 2001

Mathematical Foundation for Survival: There is important work being done by Dr. Matti Pitkänen in Hanko, Finland, concerning the relationship between number theory and the existence of nonphysical reality.  This work is abstract, but we think it is important for you to know that Dr. Pitkänen is beginning to establish a foundation in math for the truth of what we believe in as Spiritualists.  We will continue to track his work, but in the meantime, you can access some of his work at www.physics.helsinki.fi/~matpitka/.  We are sorry that we do not have a physical address for him.  Please contact us if you have questions.

The Living Energy Universe: The systemic memory hypothesis (Schwartz and Russek, 1997; 1998; 1999) proposes a universal mechanism that not only integrates the physical, chemical, biological, behavioral, social, and environmental sciences, but potentially explains a large array of seemingly anomalous phenomena in psychology and medicine.  This possible explanation includes homeopathy, cellular memory in transplant patients, energy healing, and survival of consciousness after death.

When the concepts of energy and systems are carefully integrated, a set of novel and far reaching hypotheses are generated—termed dynamical energy systems hypotheses—that have profound implications for science in general, and psychology, medicine, and spirituality in particular.

For example, logic requires the prediction that within every dynamical "material" system is a dynamical energy ("non-material") system that mirrors the overt properties and histories of the observed material systems (Schwartz and Russek, 1997).  Like starlight (photons of organized energy) that travel in space long after a given star has "died," dynamical energy systems (electromagnetic photons of organized energy) potentially can function independently of their material systems (recall that energy is the basis of matter).  Hence, the well established concepts of energy and systems lead to challenging predictions that help explain such controversial phenomena as out-of-body and near death experiences and reports of survival of consciousness after death (see The Living Energy Universe, Schwartz and Russek, 1999; www.livingenergyuniverse.com).

Afterlife Codes: Susy Smith’s last book AfterLife Codes: Searching for Evidence of the Survival of the Soul was published last year by Hampton Roads.  Most of you know about Susy’s years of dedication in conducting research into the question of the survival of consciousness after death.  Before her passing, “Afterlife Codes the Susy Smith Project,” was established.  Individuals can register a code on Susy’s web site ( www.afterlifecodes.com ).  This code can be used to prove their continued existence after they cross over.

Pet Psychics: Telepathic communications are just one facet of a holistic approach in caring for animals.  This along with acupuncture, chiropractics and herbal remedies are becoming routine aspects of veterinarian care.  Raphaela Pope has written a book, Wisdom of the Animals: Communications Between Animals and the People Who Love Them.  Believers say Raphaela Pope validates what they have thought all along: furry family members are talking to us all the time.  Pope says that just about anyone, if they are open to it, can telepathically communicate with their pets.  “Just be as quiet as you can…don’t have an agenda and just ask a question in your mind.  You may get a sense, a feeling, an emotion, a picture of what the animal wants.”
